No, that is not correct, this does not create the same directory
structure. You would be missing the "logs" and the "webapps" directory.

Whenever your solution works, an even easier way would be not to create
a symlink at all, but point Eclipse directly to /usr/share/tomcat5.5.
That DOES work under Intrepid, as I wrote in my previous posting. I
can't say anything about previous Ubuntu versions.
