IBM Thinkpad T42p Pentium M 1.8Ghz/2Mb
Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackelope alpha

Since this is on a laptop I have quite a few different network setups,
i.e. several WLANs, normal Ethernet, UMTS via usb. If any additional
data on this could be helpful, let me know. I'll try to see, whether I
can find a relation between this and which network I use.

This time, I noticed the problem after a wake-up from sleep status.
