For what it's worth I have found from experience that this problem tends
to be load related and affects both K3B and Brasero.  For some reason
neither of them are getting the priority they need when burning while
the system is too heavily loaded.

For example I used to have this regularly happen with K3B on a dual core
64bit 2.0Ghz processor.   I was running fold...@home (which took one of
the cores completely), Azureus and a lot of other light weight services
like MPD and apache2 and samba. Once I turned off fold...@home it
stopped happening.  Is there something that can be done to up the
scheduling priority for burning programs?
