To help clarify this bug, I use Jaunty on a daily basis. Apparently, when Jaunty is in use, at some point, the updates have replaced the Ubuntu 8.10 release notes with firefox release notes. If I do a fresh install using any ISO image, the release notes are from Ubuntu 8.10. They do not update when update-manager is run, so I do not know how long it takes before they catch up.
I did test this using Jaunty Desktop amd64 CD, Jaunty Desktop i386 CD, Jaunty Alternate amd64 CD, Jaunty Alternate i386 CD in both Ubuntu and Xubuntu versions.
