Sorry, haven't had time to check a live boot but as mentioned this seems to
be an application issue. It doesn't manifest on boot and it always occurs
under the following conditions:
- Running VLC
- Running IcePodder
- Browsing to certain sites (like GMail) in Firefox, but not for others

My guess would be an issue with a common ui library. It's probably not GTK
(the problem doesn't appear for Gnome games for instance) but I'm suspecting
the wxPython library (it's used in both VLC and IcePodder, and possibly
Firefox plugins). Do you have any idea how to test this? -Damian
