Public bug reported: This blog posting was recently brought to my attention:
http://jguk.org/2009/03/ubuntu-usb-ntfs-filesystem-bugs.html Despite having no knowledge of this bug first hand (I don't use NTFS at all anymore) I'm pretty sure that the casual user will not know what this message means or what the problem is or indeed how to fix it from the information contained in this message. I think that the message could be easier to read and possibly link to some information detailing the actual cause of the problem (ie uncleanly unmounting a thumb drive or whatever) and how to avoid it in future. I'm therefore submitting it to the wish list for others to ponder. I've attached the screen shot from the blog in case that link dies. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Wishlist: Less verbose, more casual user orientated NTFS error messages https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/337281 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
