Ubuntu better. I'm not able to reproduce this on intrepid (i386) using:
* p7zip-full 4.58~dfsg.1-1
* unp 1.0.15
The support for 7z was added in the 1.0.15 package. An excerpt from the
package changelog (entry was added when package for version 1.0.15 was
added):
unp (1.0.15) unstable; urgency=medium
[...]
* Added new file formats (7z, jar, war, ear, adf), based on a patch by
Philippe Coval (closes: #318338)

I don't know if this patch will be backported to 1.0.14 (the unp version
available for hardy) or something. Marking this one as confirmed so it's
up to the maintainers to decide. Thanks for the report once again!
