Two day ago I bought a Sapphire Radeon 4850 1024MB; after mounting it
the system, a Kubuntu Intrepid amd64, starts with no problems. Yesterday
I upgraded to Jaunty Alpha 5 through 'sudo update-manager -d' and all
gone right until system restarting: just after boot splash and before
kdm login screen the computer hangs and all I can do is push reset
button. After some attempts (removing xserver-xorg-video-ati and
xserver-xorg-video-radeon) today I reinstalled Intrepid after formatting
root partition and, surprise, even intrepid hangs just before kdm login
screen.
