If people with these devices are able to fix their systems via a
model=<something> assignement in their /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base, like
this:

    options snd-hda-intel model=sony-assamd

Then it should be possible to get the kernel to assign these
automatically via the quirks subsystem.  To do that we would need the
lspci -vvnn output _and_ the appropriate model=<something> line for
each.
