Public bug reported: The Moblin X driver packages have additional patches that reuse xkbcomp output and thus improve boot performance, these should be tested and if a benefit is gained, merged.
Early testing indicates a problem that only one saved compilation is used per X server, thus only the first keymap sticks. An obvious solution exists to name the files based on the xkbcomp input (MD5 sum for example). ** Affects: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Scott James Remnant (scott) Status: New ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Scott James Remnant (scott) ** Summary changed: - Merge patches from Moblin/Intel to improve boot performance + Merge patches from Moblin/Intel to reuse xkbcomp results ** Description changed: - The Moblin X driver packages have additional patches that may improve - boot performance, these should be tested and if a benefit is gained, - merged. + The Moblin X driver packages have additional patches that reuse xkbcomp + output and thus improve boot performance, these should be tested and if + a benefit is gained, merged. + + Early testing indicates a problem that only one saved compilation is + used per X server, thus only the first keymap sticks.
