I did forget to mention that I was talking about Jaunty. And indeed, I always logout, restart, shut down, from there, as I assume most people do.
In case you wouldn't yet have seen it in Jaunty, the menu System > Shut down System > Log out System > Restart has disappeared. Most probably just because almost every one uses the "Switch users or shut down" thingy to "logout, restart, shut down".
