** Description changed:

  grep glx /var/log/Xorg.0.log

(II) "glx" will be loaded. This was enabled by default and also specified in
the config file.
  (II) LoadModule: "glx"
  (II) Loading /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions//libglx.so
  dlopen: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions//libglx.so: undefined symbol:
_nv001465gl
  (EE) Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/extensions//libglx.so
  (II) UnloadModule: "glx"
(EE) Failed to load module "glx" (loader failed, 7)

It appears that there is an undefined symbol _nv001465gl which causes
libglx.so not to load

my configuration is 8.10 with current patches as of 3/8/09 on a dell
inspiron 5150 using nvidia 173.14.12 hardware driver
+
+ You can ignore this bug. It was caused by me upgrading my nvidia driver
+ from 173.14.12 to 173.14.17 (prerelease). Once I reverted back to
+ 173.14.12 and cleaned up all traces of 173.14.17 glx loads fine. Sorry
+ for false alarm.
