Was continuing the testing today whilst working and saw that the mouse is frozen but the keyboard was still working. Attached xorg.old. The mouse is a normal microsoft 3 button mouse.
Only way to fix is to restart or shutdown with switch off button on computer. When restarting, all widgets added to plasma panel at bottom is gone and plasma panel is rescaled to smaller size as if it was a 1024 x 1048 screen.
