My Acer Travelmate also does not "wake" from Suspend. I am using Ubuntu 8.10 I have attached my dmesg output for review.
Situation: when I leave my laptop ON and go away from it for awhile it goes to the Suspend mode. When push a key (usually I push the space bar) my background will display without the panels. Nokey will work, even the [Ctr] + [Alt] + [Backspace] sequence.
