Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mythtv-backend

In Kubuntu Jaunty (updated as of 10th March 2009) mythbackend will start
up fine then close fine. But after starting the second time and then
trying to stop the backend it reports:

h...@hdtv:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend stop
[sudo] password for hdtv:
 * Stopping MythTV server: mythbackend
                         [ OK ]
h...@hdtv:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend start
 * Starting MythTV server: mythbackend
                         [ OK ]
h...@hdtv:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend stop

 * Stopping MythTV server: mythbackend
                                No /usr/bin/mythbackend found running; none
killed.

This then means that you cant change any settings in mythtv-setup. I
have verified that this occurs on two separate machines and can repeat
the problem. I have found no fix, even when reinstalling mythtv this
still occurs.

** Affects: mythtv (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
