Im also having troubles with network manager plasmoid. For wireless network in our university I use following connection parameters: WPA-EAP PEAP MSCHAPv2 And when I click on network to actually connect it doesn't connect, icon doesn't change and so on. However it connects flawlessly to unsecured network. Switched back to knetworkmanager. Wish it will be fixed soon.
