Public bug reported:

I am using Xubuntu 6.10 in a fresh install. Did an "apt-get update" and
then "apt-get install hwdb-client-common". I went into the base system
packages and picked hwdb to install. The error message I received, and
it is basically the same as the last install when I tried to install the
new tar is:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:/usr$ sudo apt-get install hwdb-client-common
Reading package lists... Done

hwdb-client-common is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 40 not upgraded.
1 not fully installed or removed.
Need to get 0B of archives.
After unpacking, 0B of additional disk space will be used.
Setting up hwdb-client-common (0.6-0ubuntu16) ...
dpkg (subprocess): unable to execute post-installation script: Permission denied

subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
 hwdb-client-common
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

If you can help I would appreciate it.
