Public bug reported:
All Ubuntu boxes freezes at some point at night, because cron jobs doing
epic tasks like rebuild-db, all system scans etc - are running at nice 0
instead some sane level like 15 or 19.
This is an epic fail, since following use cases:
1) try playing real time game (i.e. shooter) around 6:55 or 5:55 your local
time:
* playing a game
* winning
* 30 second feeeze
* you lost
- guys wtf. lag!
- yea sure lol
2) try watching a movie
3) or moving a mouse cursor... (with slow hard drivers ie laptops)
Solution:
make all cron / at jobs by default running at nice 15 (and ionice)
