Tormod, as I wrote in my initial bug description, the scrolling and rendering is choppy only for KDE applications and if I run GTK application in the KDE session, they are not choppy. So the running KDE don't influence non-KDE applicaions. But I'll play with these options and if I find something new I'll report it.
