It should be a single hyphen switch:
lspci -vvnn >/tmp/reports/lspci-vvnn.log
As to an explanation, we might be able to deduce one once information
from various systems is in. In theory lsusb shouldn't make any different
since it is only supposed to be reading and reporting the configuration.
