Installed the amd64 kernel and VLC and Youtube videos with flash nonfree under Konquerer now work properly with audio always being played back with no crackling. Previously it would either crackle or fail to play sound at all and logs would have lines like "vlc SEGV error 7 in pulse...". alsa-info at http://www.alsa- project.org/db/?f=d6968af7545df262a1c083ea64464fc209f77710 and also attached for desktop with an Intel DP35DP motherboard with onboard sound.
