Here's a quick hack way to make sure which version of "wl" you are
running right now:

# strings `modinfo wl | grep filename | awk {'print $2'}` | grep
Broadcom

For me, this returns:
%s: Broadcom BCM%04x 802.11 Wireless Controller 5.10.79.10
