Can you please try 0.8 in hardy backport repos version 0.8+nobinonly-0ubuntu1~hardy1 Nad let me know if you still see it. I am unable to reproduce this in intrepid and jaunty using intrepid: 0.8+nobinonly-0ubuntu1 Jaunty 0.9+nobinonly-0ubuntu1
I have packaged 0.9 for Hardy and Intrepid in my PPA,[1] these will not be backported at this time, it may be a while before i start on that since we lack testing on 0.9 at this time. The PPA packages are NOT supported if you have a bug see me on irc.freenode.net #ubuntu-mozillateam or the better option would be to post questions/bugs to the mailing list[2] Are you downloading the file or importing it right into lightning/sunbird? What is the link to the .ics that you are trying? All of the ones that i have work fine. there are about 8 .ics.
