Public bug reported: Binary package hint: baobab
While trying to trackdown where my disk usage went, I noticed some inaccurate reporting by baobab. http://darrylclarke.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/before-scanning.png http://darrylclarke.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/after-scanning.png before-scanning.png reports the same usage as the output of df, but after-scanning.png shows approximately 40 GB missing. It's showing 'home' as only 8.5GB of use, as below, you'll see my home is using 47GB according to 'du' 'df' output (cruft removed): dcla...@ubuntu-image:~$ df -h Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/sda1 71G 59G 8.0G 89% / and, the trail of where some of the unaccounted usage is (again, cruft removed): r...@ubuntu-image:/# du -sh * 47G home r...@ubuntu-image:/home# du -sh * 45G dclarke r...@ubuntu-image:/home/dclarke# du -sh * 29G Workspace ** Affects: baobab (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- disk usage utility reports inaccurate disk usage https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/347899 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
