That is true... but it sometimes adds to the library paths, and causes a
whole mess.

As for VirtualBox, it depends on QT, so it is also affected. 
I think you are saying that VirtualBox has nothing to do with the problem
of QT's bad libraries. That is true. 

Notice:

The library referenced is VirtualBox.so. Therefoe that bug is VirtualBox's bug. 
This is the wrong place to report that.
You should report it to the VirtualBox developers.
My guess is that you _might_ have mixed VirtualBox installations...?
That could be the cause.
Still, you should report the issue to the VirtualBox devs...
