@Theo Sorry for the false alarm. Filed it as soon as I found the 0 byte file while still investigating the source. I've since created and submitted a patch (via launchpad, https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gajim/+bug/349661) that I believe should correct gajim's behavior in this area.
