Public bug reported: I have installed the first beta version of Ubuntu 9.04 codenamed Jaunty Jackalope (AMD64).
First I tried ext4 with a customized partition scheme. When installing packages from Synaptic, the system starts to behave erratically. The last thing I have the time to read, before it is completely irresponsible, is "read-only file system". I have to force power down. I cannot boot into Ubuntu anymore. Apparently the file system is no longer recognized. I reinstalled with the default parameters (using the entire HD), but again choosing ext4. Same results. Now even Grub refuses to load (Error 24). I reinstalled with ext3. Only minor problems up to now. The computer is a laptop NEXOC Osiris E705 III (CLEVO M570RU). Attached is the output of lshw. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: 9.04 amd64 beta corrupted ext4 file jaunty system ubuntu -- ext4 : file system corrupted and system unbootable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/350593 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
