I use version 8.04 and for some reason this bug didn't occur immeaditly. Keyboard settings are lost in every reboot and have to be reset every time which is somewhat annoying user experience.
Somewhat peculiar detail was that my other computer (ubuntu 8.10) recognize this keyboard as 105 while ubuntu 8.04 says it is 104. This rather easy to solve bug has now two candles on it's cake.
