i'm also having this problem. it's not really reproducable, sometimes suspend/resume works fine several times in a row, but then it fails again. i can't reconize a pattern, but maybe it's dependendent on the way (closing the lid, Fn+F4, from the shutdown dialogue, # pm-suspend, from the gnome-power-manager applet) i trigger suspend? however, when it fails, it fails on suspend. my acer aspire one 110 has sufficient memory (1.5 GB) and free disk space (+4GB), so this shouldn't be the problem.
i will now list some suspend/resume sequences i tested with results: run 1: VT1 sudo pm-suspend: ok VT1 sudo pm-suspend: ok VT1 sudo pm-suspend: ok Fn+F4: ok, screen locked on resume gnome-power-manager -> standby: fail ---------------- run 2: Fn+F4: ok, screen locked on resume Fn+F4: fail ---------------- run 3: closing lid: ok, screen locked on resume closing lid: fail ---------------- run 4: VT1 sudo pm-suspend: ok sudo pm-suspend: ok VT1 sudo pm-suspend: ok Log out -> Standby: ok Log out -> Standby: ok closing lid: ok, screen locked on resume Log out -> Standby: ok closing lid: ok, screen locked on resume closing lid: ok, screen locked on resume sudo pm-suspend: ok Fn+F4: ok, screen locked on resume Fn+F4: ok, screen locked on resume closing lid: ok, screen locked on resume ---------------- run 5: closing lid: ok, screen locked on resume closing lid: fail ---------------- run 6: closing lid: ok, screen locked on resume Log out -> Standby: fail ---------------- run 7: Log out -> Standby: ok closing lid: fail i also don't know, why some suspend methods (Fn+F4, closing the lid) require me to unlock the screen, and the others don't. i have commented out LOCK_SCREEN=true in /etc/default/acpi-support $ cat /proc/version_signature Ubuntu 2.6.28-11.38-generic battery is not the issue, the laptop is plugged to AC -- [Acer AOA110] suspend/resume failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/336899 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
