Public bug reported:

Hello! Running Jaunty, up-to-date.

I noticed today that my sound card refuses to output any sound. It
worked correctly yesterday. I'd done some updates during the day but
didn't restart, I just suspended it. Today I did a reboot, and there's
no sound coming out of the integrated sound card.

The sound card is integrated on the Asus P5Q Pro motherboard, everything
seems to identify it as “HDA Intel”. I've checked for the volume bugs,
everything seems to be turned on and at maximum volume.

There's no sound with either PulseAudio or Alsa. BTW, I do have a
Logitech USB headset, and everything works when routed through it, so
it's not just a library misbehaving.

In case it's helpful, the PA volume meter doesn't register anything at
all on the sound card, even when apps are supposed to be playing on it.
(It doesn't work very well for the USB headset, however, but it does
display moving bars for it. There's just nothing for “HDA Intel”.)

I've no idea what kind of attachments would help with debugging.
