Mine wireless is cripled too. I had normal speed with my laptop's wireless card in Intrepid but since I installed Jaunty beta I have poor speed. It jumps, stops then for few secs is normal and the all over again. As I said, no such issue with ath5k in Interpid nor from some others (Live) distros.
