This bug isn't fixed for me, hal recommends smartdimmer (>= 0.8b4) but it's wrong... It must recommend nvclock (>= 0.8b4) instead of smartdimmer. I think it's a mistake :) But nvclock from ubuntu isn't provided with the smartdimmer command... nvclock should superseed smartdimmer (which is now legacy).
