Ubuntu 9.04 beta:

After upgrading from 8.10 the CPU temperature rises to 99 C. Fan blows
permanently but CPU does not cool down.

Under 8.10 it was bad but not that bad.

Running 7.10 from the same machine: No noise, CPU temp max to 45 C.

What makes the CPU run hot in 8.10 and 9.04?

System: HP nx8220 notebook.
