Tried suggested echos with 8.10. For me this wont fix anything. I can deactivate the tablet with \x00, but \x03 does not seem to have any effect on the behaviour.
Also, to mention, I just saw that kernel module "wacom" isn`t even loaded. restarting hal does nothing. restarting X11 does nothing. so for me even this fix is not a fix.
