Jngoi and Ken, In a terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal) can you both run this command:
pidgin -d > pidgin -d You will find the file "pidgin -d" in your directory where the terminal was when you started it (most likely ~/ , which is short for your home directory). This is simply starting pigdin in debugging mode and listing what is going on for us. Hopefully it will give us some insight into what is happening.
