My laptop is a Fujitsu Siemens Li1718, and I'm running Jaunty Beta. No joy with wireless. As above, lspci gives me: 02:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications Inc. AR242x 802.11abg Wireless PCI Express Adapter (rev 01)
(NB I'm sure this used to be called AR5007EG; I have LinuxMint (Based off 8.04 LTS) running on another partition on this laptop, and after some jiggery-pokery I got that working fine.) I have tried both the default driver, and the Alternate Atheros "madwifi" driver available through "Hardware Drivers", but none detect any local wireless networks. Following the suggestion from some forum somewhere, I installed Wicd but that didn't work either. Various suggestions from various forums (e.g. http://www.ubuntugeek.com /how-to-get-atheros-ar5007eg-or-ar242x-wireless-cards-may-be-other- models-working-in-ubuntu-810-intrepid-ibex.html) don't quite apply; e.g. Jaunty no longer has the file: /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist -- Wireless does not work in Jaunty (since alpha 5, AR242x) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346690 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
