Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ubuntu-desktop

If you remove ubuntu-desktop it sometimes refuses to upgrade properly as
it cant calculate the dependancies in the correct way - the obvious
answer is to keep ubuntu-desktop installed but this forces you to
install a lot of possibly unneccessary programs - could there be another
meta-package for the vitals and the rest in a second meta package if
people do want a standard install?

** Affects: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
