Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: notify-osd

Running on Ubuntu Jaunty (9.04) on Dell XPS M140 with a 915 chipset.

notify-osd version: 0.9.9-0ubuntu1

When adjusting screen brightness using keyboard shortcuts, I only need
to hit the button around 6-7 times before I am at minimum/maximum
brightness. The notification only shows me having gone down a tiny
fraction of this amount. Further pressings of the button lower the
meter, but have no effect on my brightness. It takes more than fifty
presses to get the meter down to about 25% (decided I wasn't going to
test any further). As the meter got smaller and smaller, it seemed that
the amount by which it was decreasing was also shrinking, although I may
have just been getting bored. I have had this problem for about 2-3
months now, and it used to work perfectly.

** Affects: notify-osd (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
