Brandon,
Would you mind trying again from the current daily alternate ISO, and
skipping the step of copying the hd-media kernel & initrd.gz? The remaining
issue sounds like bug #291670 , which is believed to resolved for the case
where usb-creator is used directly on the alternate ISO, with no additional
changes.
