Hi all, As this bug is in danger of expiring, i thought i'd mention my experience.
Jaunty beta, attempting to use nvidia binary drivers, via the standard install (menu selection for proprietary drivers). On activation of the drivers, and a restart of X.org, I get a blank black screen. After waiting for sometime, it started mysteriously fuzzing into white. At that point, i thought it best (before it destroy my lcd screen) to restart. As i expect (as per http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/jaunty/alpha2) that this be a problem, i am not alarmed. I am simply reporting as requested above by Dan Trevino. My appologies if I should have posted my own bug.
