Additional test This time a different computer (IBM T40 Notebook) with fresh 9.04 beta installed. Tried to print a picture (eg. http://www.allmoviewalls.com/pics/Harry_Potter_ATHBP_2009_02_1280x1024.jpg) with EOG (Eye of Gnome) on HP LaserJet 4050 over Network.
After ~10 minutes the printing was aborted and a red light was blinking on the printer.
