the meta-package is a little light. dpkg -l xfce* shows many many packages
dpkg -L xfce* gets me "Package 'xfce*' is not installed" This is after I verified that xubuntu-desktop is installed. Is this info helpful? Ken -- After installing, there is no desktop.
