I have applied some further updates 9.04 since logging this, and what I observe now is that pressing the mute and volume keys does now mute and change the volume; However, still I don't get a popup notification of the changed volume, and if I click the volume panel applet, then it is still set to the same volume despite any changes that I make by pressing the buttons.
In 8.10 and 8.04, it used to show a notification on the screen when the sound volume was changed with these keys or when the sound was muted. Also the volume applet would reflect changes in volume made with these hotkeys. So whilst the actual volume is changed now in 9.04 with these keys, the bit the links it to the software, or gives visual software feedback from these keys, appears to have regressed from previous versions on the T40 Thinkpad. -- volume keys and mute key don't work in Thinkpad T40 - Jaunty regression https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/359478 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
