I have discovered that the lockup can reliably be reproduced by: 1) Adding a widget to the panel 2) Changing the icon of a Dolphin toolbar item (specifically, the Show Hidden Files button, which I added to the toolbar and has no default icon) 3) Opening a std.ics file from within dolphin (clicking on it). This particular file was exported from Kontact in KDE 3.5.10 on Kubuntu 8.04.
