Do you actually have to do "xfix"? Isn't it enough to restart the
machine?

** Summary changed:

- Problem with open ati driver
+ monitor sometimes powers down at startup

** Description changed:

- There are two problems
- 1)
- I get resolution(frequency) error(pop up) messaage before login screen
instead of ubuntu loading bar eventhough they(resolution and frequency) are set
correctly in preferences.Simply,I cant see ubuntu loading bar. This problem isnt
solved for more than 2 years.
-
- 2)
- Sometimes i get a blank screen at login and monitor led just keeps
blinking(it get's switched off). Then i hav to restart and do a xfix to get into
ubuntu again. This happens once in 10 times. I am using open driver provided.I
am not using proprietary ati driver.
-
