This is most probably not a firefox bug, since many other applications have the same problem (gimp, opera, ...). Or it is a bug in *all* of these applications (for example, they don't correctly store their non- maximized size). But since you say that firefox flickers to its original size shortly, that is probably not the case.
This is also not restricted to GNOME/metacity, as I am using xfce4 (Xubuntu 8.10) and I am having this problem. The difference, however, is that for me it doesn't matter whether I double-click the title bar or use the un-maximize button - the window always stays at maximum size (and it does not flicker). I'm therefore opening this for both metacity and xfwm4 ** Also affects: metacity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: xfwm4 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: firefox-3.0 (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Invalid -- maximize/minimize with titlebar https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139829 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
