Public bug reported:
On a new installation of Ubuntu 9.04, usplash works correctly using the 'nv'
driver, but after installing the nvidia 180.44 restricted driver, usplash
crashes during shutdown. The shutdown animation plays until about 20% of the
bar remains, then the video becomes corrupted as shown in the attached photo,
and the system hangs.
If I boot with "nosplash", the shutdown functions without this error.
