Echoing rubberglove to some degree, having the notifications statically
positioned removes some the utility of notify-osd for me versus
notification-daemon. I have a _preference_ for the position of
notifications, as opposed to any visual impairment as mentioned earlier.

It irks me slightly that there's been any argument at all about what I
think is more appropriately termed a "misfeature", given the usability
/human-friendly guidelines of the Ubuntu project, but I guess that's
somewhat moot at this point.
