Public bug reported:
I installed Feisty Herd-2 today. Everything was fine.
Then I did an Internet update.
After that, gnome never starts correctly after logging in. The mouse
cursor is there, works perfectly, but all I see is a brown background
and nothing happening. No startup sound even. I can only Ctrl-Alt-Del
out of X. No idea what's causing this; Neither top/ps nor syslog say
anything interesting.
