I am running Dapper 6.06 with IPW2100 on a Dell Inspiron 8600. I am using a
Linksys 4400N router. I have a win box which connects to this router using
static IP over a USB54G adapter, and works fine. I cannot get my Ubuntu laptop
to connect wirelessly at all. It recognizes the network name, but always turns
up un-associated/disconnected. I've tried this with the default network admin
tool and network-manager-gnome, both with the same results. I've been told by
some others in the user list that the problem is only with static ip, although
I cannot confirm that, since it doesn't work with dhcp either.
Configuring the router with or without encryption doesn't change the outcome,
nor does adjusting the dbus scripts (as advised in network-manager ubuntu
pages).
I have taken this system to 5 other locations and had it work flawlessly (using
dhcp).

If you need more info, please email me... I need to have this working
